About the Parsha
In Bereshit, we read about the seven days of creation:
On the first day, G-d created light (and dark).
On the second day, He created the Heavens.
On the third day, He created bodies of water as well as land and its vegetation.
On the fourth day, G-d created the sun, the moon and the stars.
On the fifth day, He created the animals that live in the water and in the air.
On the sixth day, He created the rest of the animals, and human beings.
The seventh day, Shabbat, was (and is) the day of rest.
About the Dessert
These cookies were made using a recipe for “black-and-white cookies” which can be found here.
The cookies were decorated using the icing and various food coloring to coat and pipe the designs.
Piping hack: Spoon some icing into a plain sandwich bag. Close the bag with a knot. Snip off a tiny corner of the bag. Pipe! (This is a good technique when you are using multiple colors of icing at the same time.)
