Chocolate Ganache


1 cup heavy cream OR non-dairy whip topping(not whipped)
1 cup chocolate chips OR broken up pieces of dark chocolate


Heat the cream in a small pot over a low flame.
When it begins to simmer, remove the pot from the flame.
Place the chocolate in a medium-to-large bowl.
Pour the hot cream over the chocolate.
Stir until all the chocolate is melted.

For a thinner ganache, pour or drizzle immediately over cake.
If a thicker consistency is preferred, leave the mixture to cool for a few minutes until it thickens to the desired consistency.
