About the Parsha
In Ha’azinu Moshe Rabbeinu (Moses) ascends Har Nevo (Mt. Nebo) to look out at the Land of Israel before he passes away on the mountain.
About the Dessert
The mountain is made of cake baked in three small round pans.
When the cakes are cooled, slice off the tops, to create flat surfaces.
Use ganache (recipe here) between the layers of cake, and to coat the entire “mountain.”
The figure of Moshe came from the toy bin, with a tissue wrapped around it and secured with a pipe cleaner. (It worked out well that this figurine happened to be standing in an appropriate position!)
