About the Parsha
In Naso there is a description of how the Levi’im (Levites) transported the Mishkan (Tabernacle) from place to place in the desert. Each of the types of parts of the Mishkan was the responsibility of one of the sub-tribes of Levi’im. These parts included fabrics, poles, boards and pillars.
Later in the Parsha, the Nesi’im (chieftains) bring gifts for the Mishkan. These gifts included wagons for transporting the Mishkan on their travels through the desert.
About the Dessert
This dessert represents the wagons carrying the poles and boards of the Mishkan.
Prepare a cake recipe and bake in individual-sized rectangular paper holders.
Once the cakes are cool, frost them with chocolate frosting (glaze, ganache, whipped cream, etc.)
Use wafers and wafer rolls in each wagon. (Use your imagination to add more materials!)
Make the wheels using 4 mini Oreos. Stick 2 toothpicks through the bottom of the cake holder (so that the points stick out both sides). Carefully poke each point through an Oreo cookie.
