About the Parsha
In Noach, we read about the flood and how Noach (Noah) and his family were saved in the ark. When the flood ceased, G-d made a rainbow in the sky to symbolize His covenant with Noach to never again destroy the earth.
About the Dessert
My family has a long-standing tradition of making marble cake (pronounced “mabbul cake”) in honor of the mabbul (מבול) – the flood.
This marble cake was frosted with white buttercream frosting (recipe here).
My son used colorful chocolate lentils to make the rainbow and the water.
The ark is made of store-bought cookies cut into a half-circle and 2 rectangles, glued together using melted chocolate.
