About the Parsha
In Noach, we read about the flood and how Noach (Noah) and his family were saved in the ark along with all the animals.
When the flood ceased, G-d created a rainbow in the sky to symbolize His covenant with Noach to never again destroy the earth.
About the Dessert
My family has a long-standing tradition of making marble cake (pronounced “mabbul cake”) in honor of the mabbul (מבול) – the flood.
This marble cake was decorated with blue buttercream frosting.
The ark was made of tea biscuits and a taco shell covered in melted chocolate (eat at your own risk!).
The other decorations were store-bought animal crackers and a rainbow-colored “sour belt.”
