About the Parsha
In Toldot we read about the brothers Yaakov (Jacob) and Esav (Esau).
One day, Esav returns tired and hungry from hunting, and sees Yaakov cooking red lentil stew. In his hunger, he trades his birthright for a dish of the stew.
About the Dessert
These pots of red lentil stew were made of individual cakes baked in fancy paper cups.
Coat each cupcake with chocolate ganache (recipe here).
To make the “lentils,” melt white chocolate chips or candy melts. Add a drop of red food coloring (specific kind for coloring chocolate). Pour the chocolate into a piping bag or a baggie with a corner snipped off.
Pipe lots of tiny dots on a sheet of parchment paper. When dry, scoop up the dots and sprinkle on each cupcake.
To make the handles, cut round pretzels in half. Adhere these to the sides of each cupcake holder using a drop of melted chocolate.
