About the Parsha
In Toldot we read about the brothers Yaakov (Jacob) and Esav (Esau).
One day, Esav (Esau) returns tired and hungry from a hunt, and sees Yaakov (Jacob) cooking red lentil stew. In his hunger, he trades his birthright for a dish of the stew.
About the Dessert
The pot is made of a round, tall cake.
Cut out a circle smaller than the circumference of the cake, about 1 inch deep. Scoop out the cake from the smaller circle. (It does not need to be too neat!)
Cover the cake in chocolate ganache (recipe here).
Sprinkle red candies and/or sprinkles in the “pot.”
I used a plastic hoop-shaped item, cut in half, for the handles of the pot.
