About the Parsha
In VaYechi, Yaakov (Jacob) gives blessings to his grandsons, the sons of Yosef (Joseph), Menashe and Ephraim. Yosef places his sons in front of Yaakov so that his right hand can be placed on the head of the eldest, Menashe, and the left hand on Ephraim. But Yaakov crosses his arms, placing his right hand on the head of Ephraim, and the left on the head of Menashe.
About the Dessert
This is a plain chocolate babka (recipe here) twisted to represent the crossed arms of Yaakov.
