About the Parsha
In VaYetze, Yaakov (Jacob) is on a journey, and he stops to sleep along the way, placing rocks under his head. He dreams of a ladder reaching from heaven to earth, with angels ascending and descending its rungs.
About the Dessert
The ladder is made of straight pretzels coated in chocolate. They can be attached to form the ladder shape while the chocolate is still wet, or after the individual pretzels are dry, using a dab of melted chocolate to connect the rungs.
The rock is made of chocolate Rice Krispies, molded in a small bowl to harden (recipe here).
Yaakov (Jacob) is a Playmobil figurine, with clothes made of tissues, yarn, and clear tape.
